What is Different about Mindshift?
Did the session meet expectations?
Next steps
Find a hill and take it!
Opportunities/Building
1. Transwestern has 40 acres outside DFW that could be developed utilizing prefabricated materials. They also have a second phase with ABSG for between 80K sqft and 110K sqft. They will know early December if this next phase is a go. In the meantime Ric and Rex will meet with the CFO and invite ABSG to take part in a mindshift effort.
2. Textura in Chicago planning a 100,000 SF building in 2008. Mark Iammarino will qualify this opportunity.
3. Solidus Team – lead by Mark in Hartford. Mark Charrette will be following up with some of his local business contacts to identify a project.
4. Kohl – next generation of their Intelicenter building type. Dean was going to follow up with Kohl and see if they had an interest to take their concept and “mindshift” it.
5. BP – Learning Center in Houston. BP has an immediate project with an RFP soon coming out. BP would benefit from a mindshift approach but the timing may not fit this opportunity.
6. Mixed Use Center – Community tech center possible in Austin/Houston. Marilyn is working with a project and will qualify this opportunity.
7. Each firm is going to have their legal department review one of the multi-party contracts (the Alliance documents, the NBBJ document or the Consensus Docs). If I’ve missed one please let me know.
All members would check within their organizations for potential client partners interested in partnering in a mindshift approach.
Ideal Criteria for selecting a pilot project
1. Project is triple bottom line
2. Project is off the grid
3. Client is open to investment in a pilot project
4. “Brand Name” client
5. Feasible time frame
6. Opportunity for all to participate in a meaningful way/mutally beneficial
7. Project must be able to be documented
8. Ideal timeline for completion of project in 2008
9. Geography – located close to Mindshift participants
Next steps to develop enabling tools
1. Craig will engage an IP Counsel to confirm appropriate arrangements for protection of intellectual property
2. Frame the requirements for the software – This is done by the Principals involved with mindshift
3. Convene the Specialty Team to develop the software scope (We need a contact person from each firm interested. We felt it would be important for the mindshift principal to stay involved at the initial phase of this exploration).
4. Determine the development effort for participants and related financial commitment
Communications-WIKI, Web Page, BLOG
1. Distribute Mindshift logo in JPEG for member use.
2. Lydia to distribute Topic and Speaker Assignments to the team; leverage presentations over multiple venues; recruit and coordinate to staff this effort.
3. Organize/invite potential members of a “Future Leaders Forum” - targeting Neocon.
4. Develop a mindshift Forum – Road show? Aspen Conference? “C” Level invited guests to provide feedback to mindshift concepts. The first forum in Chicago –first quarter 2008—hosted by Turner construction. Mark Charette will look at a potential forum to coincide with the AIA convention in May.
5. Identify targeted “Global Account” sales visits for a mindshift team to share the story, receive feedback and invite participation.
6. Develop support infrastructure: Road Show template, PowerPoint (one tells “why mindshift” the other frames the value proposition), PowerPoint with video, Podcast/Video Blog, Narrative Script (Simple PowerPoint and short narrative by end of first week in November. Mark Charette has volunteered to work with Rex on this)
