Why mindshift?

Challenge

The industrial model for commercial real estate, an invention of the 20th century, no longer works. The model is built on a foundation of mistrust plagued by conflict, delays, cost overruns and simply worn out. The 21st century, with its new technologies, instant communications systems, and growing environmental awareness demands a we abandon this model, not just a tweak it or overlay new methodolgies.

mindshift, made up of all parties needed to build a new paradigm for commercial real estate, envisions a trust-based fondation resulting in integrated ways of working through nuanced collaboration.  The group is prepared to set aside familiar processes to discover a new platform fit for a new age.

Mission

We see an opportunity to make a lasting, positive contribution to our world and our profession by creating a trust-build approach to design, build, and deliver non-residential real estate.

The measure of our mission is threefold:

  1. To develop and build the leadership capacity to bring together teams based on trust.

  2. To deliver high quality, sustainable buildings that are made to adapt to future change quickly, with minimum effort and expense, and well suited to the human beings who occupy them.

  3. To create a tipping point for change in the minds and hearts of leaders within the building community, corporate leaders, and policy makers.

We have invited champions from these different initiatives and representative stakeholders to learn, serve and collaborate with one another to find that innovative transforming framework.

The lesson of history is that profound changes favor the newcomer and, in rare cases,

the incumbent firms that learn to think differently.

What is a Wiki?

A Wiki is a collaborative website. It can be edited by anyone, anywhere, from any browser.  You can edit any page (including this one) by simply clicking the "Edit this page" tab. To create a new page, use two capital letters in a word with lowercase letters in between. PBwiki will automatically recognize the word as a link to a page and create the page. For example, SandBox links to a page, but sandbox and Sand Box don't. (The SandBox is a page to play around in just to get the hang of things.) Adding photos, links, etc...almost everything else you need to know is in WikiStyle.
